The solar cycle is a periodic change in the amount of irradiation from the sun that is experienced on Earth. It has a period of about 10.7 years and the relative sunspot number is a typical index to denote the solar cycle.
Similar-cycle prediction is a simple method to predict future solar cycle. It was firstly applied to the smoothed monthly mean sunspot number prediction of cycle 23, and then to the peak time prediction and the solar flux prediction at F10.7 for cycle 23. These predictions were successful. Using this method, we still predict sunspot and F10.7 of solar cycle 24.
