| During the last week, solar activity was high on 30 Mar, moderate on 28 Mar and 2 Apr, and low on other time. 13 active sunspot regions (AR4398-AR4410) were on the visible disk with 1 X1.4 and 2 M-class flares produced. No solar proton event occurred. The F10.7 index decreased from 162 sfu to 140 sfu. Due to the effect of the coronal hole high speed stream, the solar wind speed reached a peak value of about 450 km/s and the geomagnetic field reached and active levels for 6 hours on 29-30 Mar. Due to the effects of the CME on 30 Mar and a recurrent coronal hole high speed stream, the solar wind speed reached a peak value of about 700 km/s and the geomagnetic field reached moderate storm levels for 3 hours, minor storm levels for 15 hours, and active levels for 6 hours on 2 Apr. The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled for the rest of the time. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit was at minor storm levels on 27 Mar. |
